Pattern Specifications:
Your purchase of this digital crochet pattern will include instructions on the beak, head, bow, hair, wings, daisy granny squares and border.
This pattern is written using American terminology.
The plushie is worked in continuous rounds, but the granny squares are not. If this product is made using the materials listed on the right, the chick will be .
Upon using the same yarn and hook size that are mentioned in the materials list, your resulting piece should have the following approximate measurements: the size of your plushie should be approximately 3.5″ tall, 3.5″ from beak to back of the head and 7″ from tip of left wing to tip of right wing. The size of the blanket is 12″L x 12″ W. This is including three rows for the border. Each complete granny square is 2.5″L x 2.5″W. The biased edge is 3″ on the side that will face the border.
Skill Level:
These instructions are for an intermediate level crochet pattern with the assumption that you are already familiar with all of the crochet terms listed in the ‘abbreviations’ section. It has also been designed with the assumption that you have prior experience making crochet and amigurumi products. With that being said, I am more than happy to answer and assist with any questions!
Material Needed:
3.5mm crochet hook
Darning needle
Stitch markers
Poly-fil stuffing
Black crochet thread
Yarn Specifications:
Any #3 or #4 weight yarn will work. I would highly recommend using Paintbox Yarns Simply DK. This style yarn has 64 wonderful colors to choose from! Acrylic and cotton work best for the plushie, but using wool in the blanket is acceptable.
You may use any colors you would like, but keep in mind, I have coordinated the instructions based on the colors that I used.
I used Paintbox yarns simply DK in the colors listed below. You will need less than one skein (< 100 g) for each of the following colors:
Yellow = daffodil yellow (#121)
Blue = washed teal (#132)
White = paper white (#100)
Orange = blood orange (#191)
orange was only used for the beak, so you may only need 1-2if you are planning on replicating the colors that I used.
