Gary the Alligator Crochet Pattern Specifics
Meet Gary the Alligator Mini Plushie w/ Spinosaurus Dinosaur Mods Pattern from Homebound & Hooked. This pattern includes a 10-page PDF file with detailed instructions and pictures explaining how to crochet an alligator. It provides instructions on how to work up the head, body, tail and legs. The bonus spinal fin modification is included in this pattern to help convert your gator into a Spinosaurus! The long gator-like snout in this pattern leaves it open for the possibilities of other dinosaur species such as a Baryonyx, Suchmimos and more. Experiment with different eye styles/yarn colors and let your imagination run wild!
Gauge:
Upon using #6 weight Bernat Blanket and a 8.00 mm hook, your creation will be the approximate sizes:
L8”xW6”xD6”
Upon using #4 worsted weight and a 3.25 mm(D) hook, your creation will be the approximate sizes:
L4”xW3”xD3”
Skill Level:
This is a beginner level pattern with the assumption that you are already familiar with all of the crochet terms listed in the ‘stitches and terms’ section below. It has also been designed with the assumption that you have prior experience making amigurumi products. With that being said, I am more than happy to answer and assist with any questions!
Materials:
– Crochet hook
– Darning needle
– Stitch markers/sewing pins
– Poly-fil stuffing
– Felt or safety eyes
o I use 20 mm when working with Bernat Blanket yarn and 10 mm when working with worsted yarn.
– Any weight yarn will work.
– You will need these approximate amounts of yarn:
o Main body color: 70 yds
o Secondary color(optional): 25 yds
Stitches and Terms:
• CC – change color
• ch – chain
• CM – color main
• CS – color secondary
• dec – decrease
• F.O. – fasten off
• inc – increase
• rnd. – round
• sc – single crochet
• sl st – slip stitch
• st(s) – stitch(es)

• [ ] X # – repeat whatever is between the brackets the number of times stated.
